Комитет Башкирского национального движения за рубежом выражает глубокую озабоченность закрытием "Радио Свобода".
Эта международная медиа площадка и ее структурные подразделения были глотком свободы в тоталитарных и диктаторских режимах, где отсутствует любое независимое СМИ.
Для Башкортостана закрытие интернет-издания "Идель-Реалии", являющимся структурным подразделением "Радио Свобода", это огромный удар по свободе слова в нашей республике. На сегодняшний день как в России, так и в Башкортостане в результате политики диктатора Путина закрыты все более-менее независимые СМИ. "Идель-Реалии" оставались информационной площадкой которое освещало события в республике наиболее объективно.
Благодаря "Идель-Реалии" народ Башкортостана оперативно узнавал ход событий по нашумевшему Баймакскому делу, по которому сейчас в местах заключения находятся почти 80 башкир.
Помимо заключённых по Баймакским событиям "Идель-Реалии" периодически освещали судьбы других политзаключеных из Башкортостана, Татарстана и других Поволжских регионов, рассказывали о фактах коррупции властей, рассказывали о преследовании оппозиции, вели подсчет колличества погибших на войне в Украине и многое другое.
Теперь нас лишили этой важной для всех нас информации.
Мы требуем руководство США возобновить работу "Радио Свобода" иначе диктатура Путина только усилится, а подавление прав человека в России и произвол властей вырастит многократно.
Statement of the Committee of the Bashkir National Movement Abroad
The Committee of the Bashkir National Movement Abroad expresses deep concern over the closure of Radio Svoboda.
This international media platform and its structural divisions were a breath of freedom in totalitarian and dictatorial regimes where no independent media exists.
For Bashkortostan, the closure of the online publication Idel-Realii, a structural division of Radio Svoboda, is a massive blow to freedom of speech in our republic. As of today, in both Russia and Bashkortostan, all more or less independent media outlets have been shut down due to the policies of dictator Putin. Idel-Realii remained an informational platform that covered events in the republic with the highest level of objectivity.
Thanks to Idel-Realii, the people of Bashkortostan were promptly informed about developments in the high-profile Baymak case, which has led to the imprisonment of nearly 80 Bashkirs.
In addition to covering the cases of those imprisoned for the Baymak events, Idel-Realii regularly reported on the fates of other political prisoners from Bashkortostan, Tatarstan, and other regions of the Volga area, exposed government corruption, documented the persecution of the opposition, tracked the number of war casualties in Ukraine, and much more.
Now, we have lost this crucial source of information.
We demand that the U.S. leadership restore Radio Svoboda’s operations; otherwise, Putin’s dictatorship will only grow stronger, and the repression of human rights in Russia, along with government lawlessness, will increase dramatically.
